Monster Cookies

A Colorful Treat Inspired by Paula Deen

Looking for a fun and flavorful baking project that combines a little bit of everything delicious? Our Monster Cookies recipe, inspired by Paula Deen, is the perfect treat to whip up in your man cave. These cookies are packed with chocolate chips, multi-colored chocolate candies, and optional raisins, making them a hit for all ages!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup optional raisins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup multi-colored chocolate candies

  • 1 stick softened butter

  • 1 (12 oz) jar creamy peanut butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 4 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)

  • 1 Jar of Candy Eyeballs

Directions:

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Start by preheating your oven to 350 °F. Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper or nonstick baking mats to ensure an easy cleanup.

  2. Mix the Basics: In a very large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and sugars—both granulated and brown. Mix well to blend.

  3. Add the Flavors: Introduce the salt, vanilla extract, creamy peanut butter, and softened butter to the bowl. Mix all these ingredients until well combined.

  4. Fold in the Fun: Now for the exciting part! Stir in the chocolate candies, chocolate chips, and raisins (if using) along with the baking soda and oatmeal. Make sure everything is evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  5. Bake the Cookies: Drop the cookie dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading. Place 1 to 3 candy Eyeballs on each cookie for that Monster look!

  6. Watch the Clock: Bake your cookies for 8-10 minutes. Be careful not to overbake to keep them soft and chewy.

  7. Cool and Store: Allow the cookies to stand on the cookie sheet for about 3 minutes after removal from the oven before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely. Once cool, store your cookies in large resealable plastic bags.
